BERNARD — The Tremont Historical Society will feature artist Judy Taylor at its monthly program on Monday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at the library in Bernard.
Taylor will speak on the mural depicting the history of organized labor in Maine that she painted for the new Maine Department of Labor headquarters in Augusta.
Taylor was selected from a pool of more than 100 applicants for the commission.
Taylor painted all 10 panels in her Tremont studio, working on them for more than a year. The mural was installed in the new Department of Labor building in Augusta on Aug. 22.
Taylor, a resident of Seal Cove, has a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the New York Academy of Figurative Art. Her works have been exhibited across the country over the past 20 years.
The evening’s program is free and open to the public.
