BROOKSVILLE — The Reversing Falls Sanctuary will be holding six free art workshops between January and June thanks to an Expansion Arts Grant from the Maine Community Foundation.

This new program, “Currents: Free Art Workshops,” is a series of individual Saturday classes taught by local artists and writers to be held at the Sanctuary’s Brooksville location.

The tentative class lineup consists of: Farm Style Cooking with Kids led by Carol Simanton; Generative Writing led by Audrey Le; Painting with Kids led by Rebecca Poole-Heynes; Memory Transfer, Transforming Family Images and Stories Into Art, with Patricia Wheeler and Donna Gold; Fabric Dyeing, Pieced and Recycled Fabrics with Ron King; and Stitching Up A Raveled World with Daksha Baumann.

Each class welcomes individuals of all ages and artistic experience. The focus is on enhancing participants’ creative energies in a supportive community.

Workshop dates and details will be posted in local papers and on the Sanctuary’s website, reversingfalls.org.
