BLUE HILL — Local artist Margret Baldwin will host a screening of the 2014 film “Exhibition on Screen: Vermeer and Music” on Thursday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Hill Public Library.
The film is a biography of Johannes Vermeer (1632-1675), and includes footage of the artist’s finest pieces. The soundtrack includes live-recorded period music from the Academy of Ancient Music.
The second in a series of six art history film screenings at the library, it will be followed by an optional hands-on workshop Saturday, March 2, at 4 p.m., where participants will be painting portraits inspired by Vermeer.
The film screening is free and open to all. Registration for the workshop will be available to those who attend the screening.
