Appeals Board gets new Member

MOUNT DESERT — The board of selectmen Monday night accepted the resignation of George Lauriat, Jr. from the zoning board of appeals and appointed Julianna Reddish to a seat on that board.

Mr. Lauriat is the third member of the seven-member appeals board to resign in the past two months. Harry Madeira and David Irvin stepped down in late August.

With the appointment of Ms. Reddish this week and Jim Bright last month, there is still one vacant seat on the appeals board.

Ms. Reddish resigned from the warrant committee to take the appeals board position.
