Animal Blessing Set in Blue Hill

BLUE HILL — Pets and animals of all kinds will be welcomed and blessed this Sunday, Oct. 2, at St. Francis by the Sea Episcopal Church in Blue Hill.

The blessings will take place following the Sunday morning worship service, which begins at 10. It will be necessary for animals to be leashed or contained for their own safety.

The Rev. Claudia Smith, rector of St. Francis, has blessed cats, dogs, sheep, chickens, even hermit crabs, and critters of all kinds. Everyone is welcome to bring a furry friend or pet to this brief service, where each will receive a special blessing.

For more information, call the church office at 374-5200.
