BAR HARBOR — The Abbe will host the spring meeting of the Maine Archeology Society at its downtown Bar Harbor location. This meeting is open to all Maine Archeology Society members and to the general public, and runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Attendees will hear keynote speakers Ingrid Brack, Arthur Spiess and Dr. Steven Pendery give informal talks and presentations about current and exciting archeological happenings within the state of Maine. There will be a variety of artifacts on display as well as information about archeology, especially as it pertains to the state of Maine.
The Abbe Museum will also offer a tour of its Main Gallery exhibits from 10 to 11 a.m. to attendees of this meeting.
The Maine Archeology Society, founded in 1956, is the statewide organization for anyone with an interest in Maine archaeology. Its membership includes amateur and professional archaeologists and people who just want to learn more about the subject.
