29th Annual Westside Rides to be Held

SOUTHWEST HARBOR — The 29th annual Westside Rides will be held Sunday, May 30, starting and finishing at Harbor House in Southwest Harbor.

Competitive racers will leave the starting line on a 30-mile course around the western side of MDI, concluding back at Harbor House for prizes and refreshments.

Those wishing a more leisurely ride can register for either the 30-mile “Go the Distance” course, starting at 1:15 p.m., or an “Easy Rider” 10-mile course starting at 1:30.

Entry fees for the longer course are $30 for adults and $20 for youth 12-18. The “Easy Rider” fees are $40 per family, $15 for adults and $10 for youth 12-18. Kids 11 and under can ride free.

Registration will get under way at 11 a.m. for the longer course and at 12:30 p.m. for the short course. Forms for advance registration are available at Harbor House or online at www.harborhousemdi.org.

Helmets are required and water bottles will go to the first 100 registrants.

The event is a fund-raiser for the Harbor House Youth Sports Program.
