Morris Yachts expands charters, sets up new “charter team”

MOUNT DESERT — Morris Yachts is expanding its charter business and launching a new website for the business,

“Morris is known for paying close attention to the finer details, both in our service yards and boat building business,” Cuyler Morris, company president, said in a statement announcing the expansion. “We apply this same philosophy to our charter business, making sure each guest receives the utmost level of care typically unseen in the charter world and that each boat is maintained to Morris’s exacting standards.”

Morris Yachts Luxury Charters is based out of the company’s Northeast Harbor service yard marina and offers a large charter fleet especially suited to exploring the intriguing coastline.

The fleet currently includes yachts built by the Morris company as well as other noted Maine builders such as Hinckley and Sabre Yachts. Morris expects to expand the fleet before the charter season begins in late spring.

To support the charter expansion, Morris CEO Doug Metchick has put a dedicated “Charter Team” in place that will be just a phone call away 24 hours a day, seven days a week for charter guests during the season.

“Expanding our charter operation is a natural for us,” Metchick said in a written statement. “I am confident our team will apply the same high level of care and attention to our charter customers that we do for our boat owners and service customers.”

In keeping with Morris’s family-owned spirit, each charter guest will receive a special cruising guide written by the company’s second-generation owner, Cuyler Morris. In his guide, Morris acquaints guests with secret staircases, sandy coves and charming sailing passages, all memories from his youth growing up on the coast of Maine.
