CASTINE — Last weekend was a tough one for Maine Maritime Academy sailors.

In Annapolis, the offshore team finished seventh in the 10-boat Shields Trophy regatta for service academies and maritime colleges.

Sailing on the Charles River in Boston, the dinghy team finished 15th at the Boston Harbor Invitational hosted by Boston College.

Ten schools from as far away as California and Ontario ventured to the U.S. Naval Academy to spend two days racing 44-foot sloops for the Shields Trophy.
