ELLSWORTH — The maritime industry trade organization Maine Built Boats will host its third annual North Star Alliance Marketing Seminar for Maine’s Boat Building, Composites and Marine Trades Industry next week.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Ellsworth City Hall. There is no charge to Maine Built Boats members for the event, one of the last to be funded by the North Star Alliance Initiative.
There will be six seminars presented by experts in key areas of marketing. Alison Langley, a renowned maritime photographer, will lead a digital photography seminar. Richard Brooks from Flyte New Media will teach a seminar on search engine optimization and another on blogging and social media. Nancy Ansheles of Catalyst & Co. will present an interactive session on sharpening communication skills for success. Ross Lasley from the Internet Educator will talk about the whys and hows of e-mail newsletters. Jane Wellehan, president of Maine Built Boats, will teach the basics of press releases, press kits and how to get more editorial coverage.
Maine Built Boats partners with the state and federal government to leverage resources and develop a favorable business environment for the Maine boatbuilding industry. In addition, the organization is dedicated to supporting marine industry training and the development of technologies that enhance industry products and performance.
