SOUTHWEST HARBOR — Eric Clark of Marine Systems has launched Pretty Woman, a new 36-foot fishing vessel owned by Nick Martinez of Orr’s Island.

“It’s a retirement boat,” said Mr. Martinez. He laughed. “I’ll use it for puttering around, and tuna fishing now and then.”

The mold was made by Calvin Beal. Southwest Boat Works built the hull and top, and she was finished by Marine Systems.

“We modified the top, cut the roof off, and raised it 5 inches,” said Mr. Clark. “And there’s rod-holders in it for his fishing.”

Pretty Woman has a 567 hp C-9 Caterpillar diesel engine and according to Mr. Clark, she will top out at around 27 knots.

She was made of all composite construction, holds 300 gallons of fuel, 40 gallons of fresh water, and has a split wheelhouse with a 19-inch screen for Mr. Martinez’ radar and plotter.
