Lobstermen livestream from NYC July 16, 2018 on News, Waterfront ELLSWORTH — The Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative is gearing up for the peak of lobster peak season. On Monday night, the group will host its first-ever live broadcast of one of its popular chefs meet lobstermen events. The event will take place in New York City but the broadcast will stream live online so that viewers around the globe can tune in. The broadcast will feature Dana Cowin (former editor-in-chief of Food & Wine magazine and three special guest chefs: Karen Akunowicz, of Boston; Kwame Onwuachi, of Washington, D.C.; and Jimmy Papadopoulos, of Chicago. The show will focus on Maine lobster as one of America’s most iconic seafoods, how it is harvested and the sustainability measures in place to keep the stocks healthy. Cowan and the chefs will also talk about their recent time in Maine where they experienced the industry first hand with lobstermen Bruce Fernald, Merritt Carey, Chris Welch and Cyrus Sleeper, who are also scheduled to be on the show.
