BAR HARBOR — Diver Ed is offering a slew of courses for area divers and fishermen.  A CPR class is being planned for Wednesday Nov 11 at 4:30 p.m.

All divers and fishermen should be current in first aid and CPR, and dive masters, rescue divers and captains have a responsibility to keep current, said Eddie Monet. Commercial divers and tenders are now required by the Maine Department of Marine Resources to be current by Dec. 31 of this year. The class will be held at Mike Staggs’ residence, on Fern Meadow Drive off the Crooked Road in Town Hill. The cost is $30 per person.

An open water scuba course is starting at the MDI YMCA. For class schedule contact Diver Ed. The cost is $350 for open water class and pool work, and $150 for open water ocean dives in Maine. League of Underwater Superheroes members receive a $25 Diver Ed dollars for referrals.

Another round of wreck dives in Halifax, Nova Scotia are being scheduled. Wreck diving certification is available, or just dive for fun. The trip leaves Friday, Nov. 13; with dives on Nov. 14, and a return on Nov. 15. This is easy wreck diving with typically awesome visibility, said Diver Ed. The cost is $75 for two dives, plus two nights’ stay.

PADI wreck diving certification also will take place during the Halifax wreck diving trip. Cost is $200 for certification. Call 288-3483 or e-mail [email protected] for more information.
