BAR HARBOR — Nearly 150,000 cruise ship passengers and crew could descend upon Bar Harbor in the next two months, with visits scheduled almost every day between Wednesday, Sept. 7 and Wednesday, Oct. 26.
Out of the 67 visits left this season, five are scheduled as maiden voyages, including the Sept. 24 debut of the new Cunard liner, Queen Elizabeth.
The Queen Elizabeth (a 2,092-passenger ship) is the successor to the recently retired Queen Elizabeth 2. She is scheduled to arrive in Bar Harbor after first docking in New York City, Boston, and Portland.
