BLUE HILL – The Kollegewidgwok Yacht Club will host the two-day Nevin Cup regatta this weekend on Sunday Aug. 12, and Monday, Aug. 13.
The Nevin Cup is a series of two races held on consecutive days for Atlantic class sloops and cruising sailboats that honors the memory of Paul Nevin, an early KYC offshore cruiser who, with founding Commodore Seth Milliken, established the club as a Cruising Club of America Station after World War II.
Cruising Class yachts will compete using the Performance Handicap Racing Fleet time on distance handicapping system. Participants should have a current PHRF handicap certificate. PHRF Ratings for this race may be assigned or adjusted at the discretion of the KYC race committee. The cumulative total of a yacht’s elapsed time over the two days will be used to calculate the order of finish.
The skippers’ meeting for both classes will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday when the race course and start time will be announced.
