Water break closes Sumner temporarily

SULLIVAN — Sumner Memorial High School closed early Monday afternoon and reopened Wednesday morning following a break in a water line.

The leak was on the Sullivan side of Long Cove and may have been caused by pipes freezing at two seasonal homes, according to Crosby Noyes, board member of the Long Pond Water District.

“There was a take-off of our main line that probably froze up now that the snow is off the ground,” Noyes said.
