ELLSWORTH — Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a complaint from a concerned citizen who encountered a toddler walking alone on Taunton Drive in Sullivan May 4.
The caller advised that “the toddler indicated that he lived at a residence nearby and has gone there and no one appears to be home,” said Lt. Corey Bagley.
“Sgt. Dan Harlan, Deputy Marcus Downes and I went to Taunton Drive in Sullivan and after speaking with a few people who live in the area we were able to determine where the child actually resided,” Bagley said. “The mother was not aware that he was missing at the time. The matter is still under investigation.”
