Veteran accountant opens practice in downtown Ellsworth

ELLSWORTH — A longtime certified public accountant has set up shop on Main Street and said she is looking forward to working one-on-one with residents and local small businesses.

Susan K. Snow is now in business at 210 Main St. in downtown Ellsworth. Though it is a new location for her, she has worked as a CPA for 26 years.

After starting out working in Scarborough, the Kennebunkport native moved to Mount Desert Island about a decade ago and worked there for a time.

Working with numbers is in Snow’s blood, as her grandfather worked as an accountant for Esso in New York.

“He was a mentor for me, growing up,” Snow said.

She said her specialty is income tax preparation for individuals and small businesses. She said she talks with her clients and works to get the most information about them and their needs in order to serve them best.

“The more I know about them, the better job I can do for them,” she said. “It’s a personal relationship.”

Snow also said she likes to work with women to help them feel financially empowered.

Snow offers free initial consultations and is available by appointment. She can be reached by phone (266-7444) or by email ([email protected]).

Snow described herself as approachable and personable and said she likes to work with people. She said she is happy to be working in her new location.

“I love the Ellsworth community and I am really looking forward to being part of that,” she said.
