Trucks to toilets are up for sale

MOUNT DESERT — Even the kitchen sink is literally for sale as the town tries to unload a bunch of surplus equipment, fixtures and appliances.

The board of selectmen Monday night authorized public works director Tony Smith to put a long list of items up for bid. Sealed bids are due Dec. 9.

Among the items the town wants to sell, in addition to that kitchen sink, are a dump truck with 73,000 miles, pickup truck with plow and dump body with 85,000 miles, line painting machine, snow blower, seed spreader, riding lawn mower, six windows, three kitchen cabinets, one wooden door and a toilet.
