ELLSWORTH — The Maine Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program and Maine Department of Environmental Protection are offering summer-long internship positions for 2009.
Interns will work closely with Volunteer Lake Monitoring Program staff and volunteers as well as with Department of Environmental Protection biologists.
All interns attend special workshops that are designed to train volunteers to measure various aspects of lake water quality, and to identify and help prevent the spread of invasive aquatic plants.
Interns can become certified to collect water quality data in Maine.
