State Police Close Route 9

TOWNSHIP 28 — The Maine State Police temporarily shut down Route 9 Monday between the areas of Route 179 in Aurora and Route 193 in Township 22 due to three tractor-trailers sliding off the roadway. Police had initially said the road would be closed until noon. But authorities later extended the closure until 4 p.m., according to Maine State Police Troop J Commander Rod Charette.

No injuries have been reported. Troopers and wreckers were on the scene along with Aurora Fire Department and the Maine Department of Transportation.
