ACADIA NAT’L PARK — The body of a missing Hancock County man was found in the ocean off of Thunder Hole at approximately noon Thursday.
According to a press release from the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife, the body of Adam “AJ” Emmett, 45, of Bar Harbor was recovered by the Maine Marine Patrol early Thursday afternoon.
Emmett was first reported missing on Monday. On Tuesday, park rangers noticed that a car belonging to Emmett had been parked at the Schooner Head overlook since before Monday’s snowstorm.
The Maine Warden Service, the Marine Patrol and Acadia National Park personnel conducted a search.
The Marine Patrol brought the body to a local funeral home, where the state Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct an exam.
