ELLSWORTH – The Rotary Club of Ellsworth has canceled its planned pancake breakfast during Autumn Gold weekend due to increased spread of COVID-19.
The club announced the news Sept. 14. The breakfast had been planned for Sept. 25 at the Moore Community Center.
On Sept. 13, Dr. Nirav Shah, director of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), reported there were 194 people hospitalized with COVID-19 in the state, with 67 of them in the ICU and 40 on ventilators.
As of Monday, Northern Light Blue Hill and Maine Coast hospitals implemented a no-visitor policy “due to the increased COVID-19 activity in our local communities and across the state.”
Exceptions will be made in end-of-life, obstetrics, emergency and pediatric instances.
