Record preservation conference June 16



ELLSWORTH — Registration is now open for the Hancock County Genealogical Society’s upcoming conference on digitization and privatization issues.

The conference is scheduled for Saturday, June 16, from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at the Moore Community Center in Ellsworth.

This county-wide conference will focus on the digitization and preservation of the records held in various repositories, including town records, church records, school records, family records, museum records and more.

There will be two keynote speakers at the conference, Adam C. Fisher, director of collections development and digital initiatives at the Maine State Library, and B.J. Jamieson of the Maine Genealogical Society.

The cost to attend the conference is $15 and includes lunch.
