Something to Say About the Upcoming Elections? We’re Listening …

ELLSWORTH — Ellsworth American and Mount Desert Islander videographer Jesse Groening will be conducting man-on-the-street interviews throughout Hancock County for the next seven weeks to ask voters for their opinions about the candidates and issues that will appear on the Nov. 6 election ballot.

Groening will set up in front of post offices, shops and cafes throughout the county to ask voters about their stances on local as well as national issues and elections.

Those interviews will be published, with photos of those interviewed, in The Ellsworth American and Mount Desert Islander starting Sept. 6.

Videos of the interviews also will appear in the online editions of The American and Islander and on fenceviewer.com.

This coverage is part of an ongoing coverage project dubbed “My Vote.” It will conclude with special pages devoted to the candidates and their reasons for running, a list of polling places and hours, an explanation of ballot issues and background pieces on the local, state and national election regulations.
