ELLSWORTH — The League of Women Voters of Maine-Downeast is sponsoring four moderated candidate forums for state legislative races in preparation for the Nov. 6 general election.
The public is invited to come and hear candidates discuss political issues important to Maine. The candidates also will respond to written questions from the audience.
Each forum will begin with a panel of House candidates and will be followed by a panel with the Senate candidates.
The forum schedule is as follows:
- Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the Bagaduce Music Lending Library Performance Hall in Blue Hill with candidates Nancy Colwell (R) and Sarah Pebworth (D) for Maine House District 133, and Louie Luchini (D) and Richard Malaby (R) for Maine State Senate District 7. The forum will be moderated by Clifton Page.
- Monday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. at the Orland Community Center in Orland with Maine House District 130 candidates Dick Campbell (R) and Mike Reynolds (D), Maine House District 131 candidates Nathalie Arruda (D) and Sherm Hutchins (R) and Maine Senate District 8 candidates Kimberley Rosen (R) and Bev Uhlenhake (D). The forum will be moderated by Susan Lessard.
- Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 6 p.m. at the Somesville Fire Station in Somesville with Maine House District 134 candidates Philip Brady (R) and Genevieve McDonald (D) and Maine Senate District 7 candidates Louie Luchini (D) and Richard Malaby (R). The forum will be moderated by Jill Goldthwait.
- Monday, Oct. 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the Moore Community Center, 133 State St., Ellsworth, with Maine House District 132 candidates Nicole Grohoski (D) and Mark Remick (R) and Maine Senate District 7 Senate candidates Richard Malaby (R) and Louie Luchini (D). The forum will be moderated by Stephen Fay.
