Candidates to meet in Orland March 22



ORLAND — Eight Democratic primary candidates will gather for a Blue Wave Gubernatorial Panel discussion at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, at the Orland Community Center.

The evening will consist of a short presentation of positions by the prospective candidates, followed by an extensive question-and-answer period.

Scheduled to attend, in alphabetical order, are:

  • Jim Boyle, founder of Boyle Associates, an environmental company.
  • Adam Cote, a decorated combat veteran and CEO of Thermal Energy Storage of Maine.
  • Maine state senator and attorney Mark Dion, who is a former Cumberland County sheriff.
  • Mark Eves, former speaker of the House and CEO at Woodfords Family Services.
  • Sean Faircloth, former mayor of Bangor.
  • Maine Attorney General Janet Mills.
  • Former Maine State Rep. Diane Russell.
  • Betsy Sweet, former director of the Maine Women’s Lobby and the Maine Commission for Women, who currently runs the Moose Ridge Associates lobbying firm.
