Bucksport Council Interviews Town Manager Candidates

BUCKSPORT — The Bucksport Town Council met in executive session Monday to interview candidates for the position of town manager.

The board will meet again tonight, Tuesday, to conduct two more interviews, said Council Chairman David Keene.

Keene said the council would likely make a decision tonight on which candidates to bring back for a second interview.

Those interviews would take place next week.

“We don’t know how many we’ll bring back for a second interview,” Keene said.

The board will have a few more days to deliberate before making a decision after the last round of interviews.

“I think the plan is to try to come to some sort of conclusion by the first of November,” Keene said.

Bucksport has received about 30 applications for the post.

Town Manager Roger Raymond intends to retire from the position effective Jan. 6.
