Orland man dies in Holden crash

HOLDEN — An Orland man died Thursday on the Main Road after his northbound car entered the southbound lane and struck a tractor-trailer head-on, Holden Police Chief Chris Greeley reported.

Derick Warren, 30, was killed upon impact, Greeley said.

The tractor-trailer operator, Queta Heard, 39, of Georgia, was not injured, the chief said.

The 4:39 p.m. accident, which occurred near Maine Military Supply, remains under investigation.

“Once we’re done looking at everything, including information from the reconstructionist, we’ll have a conclusion about what caused the accident,” Greeley said. Right now “we just don’t know.”

The Maine State Police is reconstructing the crash.
