ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth American and Healthy Acadia are partnering with the Maine Opioid Collaborative to coordinate a public conversation about opioid use, including heroin, and the impacts on local communities.
The forum will be held on Monday, March 28, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ellsworth Elementary-Middle School.
All are invited to this free event to learn and share their views on the challenges of opioid use and addiction. Refreshments will be served.
The event will start with a presentation from professionals in law enforcement, treatment, prevention and harm reduction speaking about what’s happening in Hancock County. Immediately following, there will be a facilitated community discussion in which members of the public will be encouraged to share their experiences, perspectives and suggestions.
Denise Black of Healthy Acadia and Hancock County Sheriff Scott Kane will be among the panelists.
Registration is recommended, but not required.
