Hope to see you at the eighth grade class auction on Saturday, March 21, at 10 a.m. A good bargain is exactly what I need right now. The students have worked hard this year on fund raising activities. Money raised from the auction will be used for the BHS Scholarship Fund, the eighth grade class trip and end-of-the-year promotion expenses. A list of auction items will be available at the school prior to the auction. Doors will open at 9:30 for a preview. The students are also soliciting donations from local businesses and would appreciate contributions from community members as well. Please call the school at 537-2203 if you want to contribute.
But wait! There is even more fun scheduled for that date. The Mariaville Fire Department Clowns have challenged grades K-2 to a basketball game starting at 6 p.m. Admission is free and a great time is in store.
A joint School Committee meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, followed by an Otis School Committee meeting.
Teacher Pat Haugh was injured during February vacation and is home recuperating. If you would like to send good wishes her way, her address is 955 Douglas Highway, Lamoine, ME 04605.
Last week our hard-working Buck cheerleaders competed at the Bangor Auditorium in the statewide invitational competition sponsored by the Calais Recreational Department. The cheering squad members are: Nicole MacLaughlin, Jasmine Paine, Samantha Goddard, Brooke Dunn and Amanda Totman. They train under the direction of coach Amy Verburgt. Good job all!
Does anyone have any more good news to share? We could sure use some.
