New airport manager hired

TRENTON — The Hancock County Commissioners Tuesday voted unanimously to hire a Trenton man as the new manager of the Hancock County-Bar Harbor Airport.

The commissioners held their regular monthly meeting online via Zoom due to the Governor’s executive order to stay at home amid the coronavirus outbreak.

County Administrator Scott Adkins said Leroy Muise will start on April 20.

Muise will replace former airport manager Bradley Madeira, who resigned Feb. 14 for personal reasons.

“We had several out-of-state candidates but concentrated on a few that were local,” said Adkins.

“Leroy was chosen due to his experience and leadership for many years right on the BHB campus with Columbia Air,” Adkins said.

Muise has been general manager of Columbia Air Services’ Trenton location.

“For those that know Leroy, he has been a valuable member of the Trenton community for a long time,” Adkins said.

Hancock County will pay Muise $63,000 a year.
