Mr. Bucksport Reigns Again

BUCKSPORT — As always, hilarity earned major points with the judges at the ninth annual Mr. Bucksport competition.

Eight competitors graced the Bucksport High School gym stage March 14 with talents as diverse as ribbon twirling and glow-in-the-dark dancing.

In the end, BHS junior Sam Carmichael, competing as Mr. Carmichael Field, reigned supreme. Carmichael’s performance highlights included cheerleading at a chess game and an original rap.

As Mr. Bucksport, he earned $200 and an all-season pass to BHS events.

Vince Tymoczko was runner-up and received $100.

Each brave contestant took home a $10 McDonald’s gift certificate.

Competitors were judged on entrance, sportswear, talent and interview questions.

More than 500 people turned out for this year’s event. All proceeds went to the BHS Outing Club.
