ELLSWORTH — All signs point to a very white Christmas this year as weather forecasters predict a Tuesday night storm on the heels of Sunday’s blizzard.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Caribou, most of Hancock County could see 8 to 10 inches of snow during the storm, which is expected to start Tuesday evening and continue into Wednesday morning. The heaviest snowfall is expected across the coastal Downeast region.

Winter storm warnings have been issued for southern Penobscot, Hancock and Washington counties. Winter weather advisories have been issued for southern Piscataquis, central Penobscot and southeastern Aroostook counties.
