Missing man’s brother accused of stealing his tools

ELLSWORTH — The brother of a missing man has been charged with stealing his brother’s tools, according to District Attorney Matt Foster.

Lincoln Snowdeal, 41, of Lamoine was arrested May 1 on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Snowdeal allegedly took tools belonging to his twin brother Anson and refused to return them to Anson’s wife, Foster said. The value of the tools is estimated at $50,000, the prosecutor said.

Snowdeal is free on bail.

Foster said the Maine State Police are investigating the case.

Anson Snowdeal is being sought on warrants charging theft Class B (more than $10,000) and home repair fraud, Class D, which is a misdemeanor. The Ellsworth Police Department has been investigating.

Anson has been missing since Feb. 9.

The Maine State Police say Anson Snowdeal was aware of the investigation and pending charges at the time of his disappearance. Police also say there is “sufficient evidence” that Anson is avoiding detection.
