Michaud to Hold Bucksport Forum

BUCKSPORT — U.S. Rep. Mike Michaud (D-Maine) will present a public forum on trade reform from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 8, at the Alamo Theatre, 85 Main St. in Bucksport.

The event is free and open to the public.

Michaud is leading the fight to reform trade policy. As founder and chairman of the House Trade Working Group, he is leading a growing caucus of representatives from around the country and calling for a new way forward in trade policy.

In June, Michaud, together with Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) introduced the Trade Reform, Accountability, Development and Employment (TRADE) Act. The bill provides a framework for a new trade and globalization agenda that could benefit more Americans.

At the April 8 forum, Michaud will speak about the TRADE Act, and other trade and labor matters relevant to Maine workers. He will take audience questions on these issues following his address.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and refreshments will be provided.
