Means wins Sullivan Select Board race

SULLIVAN – Newcomer Reginald “Bud” Means won a contested race for Select Board member Tuesday, handily beating out incumbent Roger Wakefield 131 to 96, according to election results from the town office.

During a candidates night held June 7, Means said he is concerned about the condition of town roads, particularly the deficiencies of Tunk Lake Road. Means thinks Sullivan needs a road commissioner and said he would also like to improve participation in the town.

If elected, this would have been Wakefield’s second term on the board.
Sullivan has 961 registered voters and on Tuesday, 186 ballots were cast. There were 18 absentee ballots cast.
