MCMH Breast Cancer Events Scheduled



ELLSWORTH — Maine Coast Memorial Hospital will host two free community education forums and one full day of free mammograms during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.

The first forum on Wednesday, Oct. 17, will be a breast cancer seminar with three local specialists. Oncologist Dr. Philip Brooks, radiologist Dr. Brian Ewy and surgeon Dr. Molly Collins will be discussing the latest updates in breast cancer and answering questions about breast cancer and the treatment options.

The seminar will run from 5 to 6 p.m. in the hospital’s classroom.

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 6 p.m., lymphedema specialists Marie-France Browning and Charlotte Stephens will discuss the signs, symptoms and treatment of lymphedema as well as present a cancer exercise program that is beneficial during your cancer treatments. This free informative session will be held in the MCMH classroom. Call 664-5314 to reserve a seat or register online at www.mainehospital.org.

On Thursday, Oct. 26, the hospital will be offering free digital mammograms from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. by appointment.
