AURORA — The U.S. Marshals Service’s Maine Violent Offender Task Force on Monday announced the arrest of Kyle Eaton, 48, of Osborn.
Eaton was wanted by South Carolina authorities on two warrants issued on April 20, 2022, on charges of “sex/criminal sexual conduct with minor-victim under 16 years of age, offender with previous record and sex/criminal sexual conduct with minor third degree-commit/attempt lewd act,” U.S. Marshals Service District of Maine Senior Inspector Ryan Guay stated in a press release.
“Through a collaborative effort, investigators determined that Eaton was living and working in Maine,” Guay stated. “U.S. marshals were able to safely apprehend Eaton at his place of employment in Aurora without incident. Eaton is charged in Maine as a fugitive from justice pending his extradition back to South Carolina.”
Eaton is required to be a lifetime registrant for the Sex Offender Registry due to prior convictions of aggravated felonious sexual assault and rape of child with force in another state.
The Marshals Service’s Maine Violent Offender Task Force was assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force and the North Charleston Police Department in South Carolina.
The U.S. Marshals Service Maine Violent Offender Task Force is comprised of members of the U.S. Marshals Service, Maine State Police, Maine Department of Corrections, the Biddeford Police Department and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
