Man Summoned in Domestic Incident

GOULDSBORO — Police received a call April 10 about a domestic incident at a Gouldsboro home between a young woman and her boyfriend, Brendon Bubar, 20, who is under court order not to have contact with her.

Police said they were met outside by Bubar, who told them his girlfriend was not there and that he had been watching television with a friend.

The friend told police the girlfriend was hiding in the house and that she and Bubar had argued for two hours, although there was no physical contact.

While a state trooper stayed with Bubar, Gouldsboro police went into the house and found the girlfriend hiding in a bedroom.

Police took Bubar to Hancock County Jail in Ellsworth, where he was summoned on a violation of conditional release. He is to appear in Ellsworth District Court June 16.

The girlfriend said she had come back of her own free will and loved him, but that her father wanted her to leave the house and likely called the police.

Police informed the girlfriend she could have no contact with Bubar until his case was resolved and asked her to have her mother come and pick her up and take her home.

Man Intoxicated

Police received a report April 8 from a Gouldsboro man who said he was concerned about the safety of a young man who came to his house at 2 a.m. and appeared very intoxicated.

Police drove from the village of Birch Harbor to Route 1, spotted the young man, and drove him to his sister’s house in Sullivan.

Suspicious Activity

Police received a call April 9 from a Gouldsboro man who reported suspicious activity around his house.

Police said the man had again stopped taking his medication.

License Suspended

On April 10, police spotted a pickup operated by Thomas Hibbard, 27, of Gouldsboro, heading east with a broken taillight on the driver’s side.

Police said when Hibbard was asked for his license, registration and proof of insurance he failed to provide the license.

Police discovered his license had been suspended. He was summoned for operating after suspension and is to appear in Ellsworth District Court July 21.
