Man reportedly crashes into vehicle three times while parking

ELLSWORTH — An Ellsworth man was arrested Sept. 17, following an accident in the parking lot of a local restaurant.

Around 7:30 p.m., police responded to Pat’s Pizza for a report of a crash in the parking lot.

According to a police report, Charles D. Cobb, 60, of Lamoine attempted to back into a parking spot at the restaurant.

Witnesses said he struck one adjacent vehicle three times before getting into the parking spot. He then reportedly backed up too far and struck a second vehicle. It was not considered a legal parking job.

Witnesses said Cobb “then walked into Pat’s and began drinking.”

Cobb was arrested and charged with operating under the influence. Neither of the owners of the other vehicles was in their cars at the time of the crashes.
