Man escapes injury in crash

A Tremont man escaped injury Friday after his car struck a utility pole on the Tremont Road and burst into flames.

William Baker, 75, fell asleep at the wheel of his 2005 Subaru, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. Baker was able to escape and was out of the vehicle when Tremont firefighters arrived to douse the flames.
