Maine State Police Log Week of Sept. 23

ELLSWORTH — Troopers this past week arrested two drivers on charges of operating under the influence.

Trooper Owen Reed arrested John Consavage, 21, of New Hampshire on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while operating under the influence of an intoxicant.

Trooper Einar Mattson investigated an accident on Route 1 in Orland Saturday, which led to the arrest of Richard Lord, 59, of Stonington on a charge of OUI.


Mattson is investigating a theft of an item valued at $50 and a credit card, which were taken from a mailbox in Otis sometime between Sept. 4 and 14.

Trooper Kim Sawyer received a report of two catalytic converters that were stolen in Brookton Sept. 14.


On Sept. 14, Sawyer summoned Zachary Anderson, 18, of Calais on a charge of leaving the scene of an attended vehicle accident, which occurred July 16 in Calais. Police said Sawyer obtained a subpoena and viewed a Machias Savings Bank video, which captured the incident.

Scott Knowles, 38, of Winter Harbor was summoned on a charge of operating after suspension after Mattson stopped Knowles’ vehicle on Route 1 in Hancock Sept. 14.
