Maine State Police Log Week of Sept. 16

ELLSWORTH — Maine State Police Sgt. Dan Ryan and Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to a plane crash with minor injury on the Pocomoonshine Lake in Princeton Sept. 7.

Joseph Wallace, 51, of Alexander was operating a Challenger Ultra-Light when he landed on the water and forgot to put the wheels up, police said. Wallace suffered a bloody nose.

Alcohol offenses

Trooper Owen Reed arrested two young men on impaired driving charges in two separate incidents in Castine Saturday. Reed also summoned two other young men for alleged alcohol offenses in the college town.

Reed arrested Patrick Miller, 20, of Cape Elizabeth on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant and failure to stop after a traffic stop in Castine Saturday.

Reed arrested Andrew King, 20, of Maryland on a charge of OUI after a traffic stop in Castine Saturday.

Reed summoned Scott McCloughan, 19, of New Jersey on a charge of transportation of liquor by a minor after a traffic stop in Castine Saturday. A passenger in the vehicle, Wilson Higgins, 18, of Glenburn, was charged with possession of liquor by a minor.

On Sunday, Sawyer summoned Dillon Preston, 21, of Dennysville on a charge of furnishing liquor to a minor after an incident in Calais on Aug. 28.

Shots fired

Sawyer received a report in Danforth that someone shot through a window in an unoccupied home Sept. 9. There are currently no suspects.


Sawyer summoned Zachary Williams, 20, of Talmadge on charges of trespassing and theft.
