Maine State Police Log Week of Oct. 8



ELLSWORTH — A stop of a vehicle for erratic operation on Route 1 in Ellsworth Sept. 29 led to the driver’s arrest, according to Maine State Police.

Det. Greg Mitchell stopped the vehicle and after further investigation by Cpl. Chris Smith, police arrested Starr Ferris, 39, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. Police said additional charges are pending.

Accidents

Trooper Gavin Endre responded to a vehicle rollover on Newman Street in Winter Harbor Sept. 27. The operator, Chun Hung Tseng, 28, of New York was not injured. No further details available.

Theft

A Bucksport man was charged after allegedly stealing a trailer from a yard sale in Orland Saturday. Trooper Dana Austin summoned Gary Ashe, 57, on a charge of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer.

Summonses

Cpl. Smith investigated a reported trespassing incident on the Morrison Farm Road in Mariaville Saturday. As a result, Joseph Martin Vachon, 83, of Ellsworth was summoned on a charge of criminal trespass.

Cpl. Micah Perkins summoned Jay Preston, 30, of Edmunds on a charge of operating after suspension in Cooper Saturday.
