Maine State Police Log Week of Oct. 28



ELLSWORTH — A motorist was taken by ambulance to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor with serious injuries after a car went off the road, rolled over and struck a tree on Castine Road in Castine Oct. 19, the Maine State Police reported.

Adam Reed, 21, no address given, was operating the car, a 2020 Ford Mustang, police said.

On Monday, Oct. 25, a hospital spokesman said Reed was still in critical condition.

More accidents

Cpl. Jeff Taylor and Sgt. Jeff Ingemi responded to Whiting for a serious injury crash that a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy came across on the Halls Mills Road Oct. 18.

A pickup truck driven by Braden Pottle, 20, of Lubec crashed into a tree, police said. Pottle suffered serious injuries along with his three passengers, troopers said. The passengers were not identified.

“Speed and alcohol were factors in the crash and charges are pending,” police said. None of the occupants were wearing seat belts.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Machias Ambulance, LifeFlight and Whiting Fire Department assisted.

Arrest

Trooper Owen Reed arrested Nicholas Jennings, 23, of Castine on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant after a traffic stop in Castine Oct. 22.
