ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police arrested two people June 3 in Lincoln in connection with a fatal crash that occurred in Township 8, north of Danforth, on May 29.
Troopers Keith York, Jake Ferland, Josh Lander and officers from Troop E arrested Rian Moore, 35, of Danforth on charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
Also charged was Mikayla Lowell, 28, of Danforth on charges of hindering apprehension or prosecution and tampering with a witness or informant.
The deceased is Don Charette, 50, of Frenchville, said Maine Public Safety spokeswoman Shannon Moss. The investigation found Moore had been driving a 2003 Ford Explorer, which crossed the centerline and struck two motorcycles, a 2009 Harley Davidson Street Glide driven by Charette and a 2012 Harley Davidson Street Glide driven by Jesse Ouellette, 30, of St Agatha.
Both Charette and Ouellette were transported to a local hospital. Ouellette suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
More arrests
A Gouldsboro man was arrested after he allegedly left the scene of a motor vehicle accident June 4 on Route 1 in Sullivan, police said.
Cpl. Blaine Silk arrested Jeffrey Lynn, 39, on charges of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant, operating after suspension and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
Vandalism
Trooper Einar Mattson is investigating a vandalism complaint to playground equipment near the town office in Sullivan May 31.
Theft
Trooper Steven Mahon is investigating a theft of a chainsaw from a shed in Columbia June 1.
Summonses
Trooper Kim Sawyer summoned Dawn Hewes, 48, of Topsfield on a charge of operating after suspension June 4.
