ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police and Hancock County Sheriff’s deputies went to a Bass Harbor residence Friday to investigate a report of gunshots.
Cpl. Chris Smith said the parties were shooting blank ammunition and no charges resulted.
Sheriff’s Lt. Chris Thornton and Deputies Luke Gross and Jake Day assisted.
Arrests
Smith and Trooper Recruit Travis Chapman arrested Jeffrey Brown, 46, of Hancock on four outstanding warrants for unpaid fines Jan. 14.
Sgt. Jason Sattler and Chapman stopped a motor vehicle on Route 166A in Castine Friday after noticing erratic operation.
After an investigation, troopers arrested Michael Russell, 64, of Castine on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant.
Trooper Bryan Creamer and Trooper Caleb McGary arrested George Pickard, 26, of Franklin on a warrant Sunday.
Citizen assist
Trooper recruit Travis Chapman and Cpl. Chris Smith investigated a report of a family fight on Verona Island Jan. 13. Troopers separated the parties involved for the night.
Criminal mischief
Creamer investigated a criminal mischief complaint about traffic cones in Stonington getting damaged.
