Maine State Police Log: Man’s visit to barracks leads to drug charge



ELLSWORTH — A Machiasport man who allegedly smelled of “burnt marijuana” was charged after he stopped to ask a trooper a question at the Maine State Police barracks March 14.

Police said Fredy Patino, 51, had stopped to ask a concealed carry question.

After smelling marijuana, Trooper Jacob Ferland searched Patino and his vehicle, which resulted in Patino being charged with sale or use of drug paraphernalia.

Arrests

A 911 call March 15 led to the arrest of a Franklin man.

Sgt. Jason Sattler and Trooper David Barnard arrested Alan Walton, 30, on charges of assault, criminal mischief and obstructing the report of a crime or injury.

Walton left the residence before troopers arrived. The Bar Harbor Police Department stopped him. Ellsworth Police and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department helped look for Walton’s vehicle.

Summonses

Trooper David Barnard summoned Edward Stevens-West, 28, of Gouldsboro on a charge of operating after suspension March 16.

Trooper Miles Carpenter summoned Justin Rowell, 35, of Eastbrook on a charge of theft.

Trooper Bryan Creamer summoned Jordan Crawford, 21, of Hancock on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana after a traffic stop in Sullivan Friday.

Ferland summoned David Eaton, 28, of Bangor on a charge of operating without a license Friday in Ellsworth.
