Maine State Police Log: Ellsworth woman charged with OUI

ELLSWORTH — The Maine State Police handled a number of motor vehicle infractions last week.

Sgt. Tim Varney summoned Carrie Barnes, 42, of Ellsworth on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of an intoxicant. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop on Route 1A in Ellsworth Aug. 22.


Trooper Caleb McGary summoned Jessica Riley, 33, of Bucksport on a charge of operating after suspension after a traffic stop in Bucksport Aug. 22.

Trooper Jacob Ferland charged Todd Cotier, 33, of Orland with operating beyond his license restriction on Saturday in Penobscot.

Community outreach

Cpl. Chris Smith and police dog Winger did a demonstration at an Ellsworth Family Veterinary Practice open house Saturday. The community “paw-ty” drew 75 guests.
